Improving Road Safety at the Entrance of Collège de la Sainte Famille Française – Fanar

As part of our ongoing commitment to road safety, we are proud to announce the rehabilitation of the entrance to Collège de la Sainte Famille Française – Fanar.

Why This Rehabilitation?

Since 2022, TotalEnergies Marketing Lebanon has been implementing the VIA Safe Mobility Programme in Lebanon. This global initiative, backed by TotalEnergies Foundation, focuses on raising awareness about safe mobility among school students. Through VIA, we empower young ambassadors to identify and recommend road safety enhancements near their schools.

The 2024 VIA Programme in Lebanon highlighted the outstanding work of students from Collège de la Sainte Famille Française – Fanar. Not only did they win first place at the national level, but they also triumphed in the international competition. Their project emphasized the need to address road safety challenges at their school entrance, inspiring our decision to act.

The Rehabilitation Project

In response to the students' recommendations, TotalEnergies Marketing Lebanon, with the technical expertise of the Lebanese International Road Safety Academy (LIRSA), financed the implementation of enhanced safety measures at the entrance of Collège de la Sainte Famille Française – Fanar.

The improvements include:

  • Road Signs: Installing clear and visible signs on the primary road near the school entrance and within the school premises to better inform drivers and enhance their awareness of the school zone.
  • Speed Hump: Adding a speed hump to slow down vehicles and improve safety.
  • Marking and Cat Eyes: Enhancing visibility with markings and reflective cat eyes.
  • Flashing Beacons: Installing beacons to alert drivers at night about the speed hump.

These enhancements aim at protecting drivers and pedestrians by reducing speeding and increasing driver awareness around the school.

TotalEnergies Marketing Lebanon remains committed to fostering a culture of road safety through programmes like VIA. By listening to the voices of young ambassadors and acting on their recommendations, we aim at creating a lasting impact in our communities.
